Friday Film Night for Adults
Friday, August 236:00—8:30 PMCommunity RoomMahopac Public Library668 Route 6, Mahopac, NY, 10541
Join us once a month for a more grown up, sophisticated film selection than the more general super-hero fare eating us all alive this past decade! Or maybe just something wild and fun!
This month's screening: Yojimbo (1961, 110 minutes)
Providing the blueprint for countless westerns (including A Fistful of Dollars and Django), Akira Kurosawa's classic samurai film is an absolute blast from start to finish! The film centers on a wandering masterless samurai, played by Toshiro Mifune in an iconic and extremely charismatic performance, as he pits two rival gangs against each other to free a suffering town from their control. Akira Kurosawa was one of the absolute masters of the cinematic form and Yojimbo is one of his most playful and wildly entertaining films!
This is an after-hours program for adults.
Bring your own food and drink (no alcohol) and/or enjoy some of our provided refreshments and snacks.
The library doors lock at 7 PM so we are required to stay on the third floor after closing time. If you need to leave early, approach Joe and he will escort you downstairs to the exit.
See you at the movies!
