History and Hearsay with David Brooks of the Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site

Wednesday, January 106:30—8:00 PMVirtual - no room neededMahopac Public Library668 Route 6, Mahopac, NY, 10541

Join presenter David Brooks as he takes you on a virtual tour of the Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site grounds with interesting bits of history & mystery. Within the set of tales is one lie.

Can you spot it?

Schoharie Crossing is an Erie Canal historic site, and its canal features are registered National Landmarks. But the history of Schoharie Crossing and the community around it is deep, rich, and sometimes just a little weird. This program connects historic facts that seem all to modern, real, and relevant. One of the stories will be entirely fabricated, but can you tell which? Pay attention and maybe you can figure it out.

David Brooks is the Education Director for Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site. He has worked at the site since 2014 and is also a member of the board of trustees for the Montgomery County Historical Society, sits on the board for the Fulton County Historical Society, is a past president of the Mohawk Valley Museums Consortium, and is also a current member of various other organizations devoted to the preservation of history in New York State.

This program will be presented virtually.  A Zoom link will be sent to registered participants the morning of the program.

Registration for this event has now closed.
