Know Your Rights: Unemployment Benefits

Join William J. McNamara, a staff Attorney at Legal Services of the Hudson Valley for a presentation about knowing and understanding your rights when it comes to unemployment benefits. 

The presentation will cover the basics of unemployment compensation. Topics to be discussed will include eligibility for benefits, benefit amounts, and their duration. The application process will be reviewed, touching upon the most common reasons for denial of benefits. How to request determination hearings will be outlined, including hearing procedures and the appeals process. There will be an opportunity for questions and answers.
