Join Eugene Boesch for a dive into the history of the Princess Caroline, a merchant ship built around 1715 that sank along Manhattan's East River shoreline around 1740 at what is now 175 Water Street. The ship was discovered beneath 6 to 8 feet of frozen asphalt, concrete and 19th century building rubble. Excavations ultimately recovered more than 300,000 artifacts.

Learn about the many different items that were discovered frozen in time, the history behind the ship, and the significance in world history of the shipbuilders, merchants, traders and mariners of the colonial Atlantic world.
