The New Parents Support Group provides no-cost, professionally-facilitated support for all who seek professional advice, peer companionship, and kind support. This warm and welcoming group is co-facilitated by Katherine Whiteside (CPD:CBI) and Dr. Rachel Lemonik (PsyD). This group is open to all residents of Putnam County. Katherine Whiteside became a certified postpartum doula through Childbirth International in 2010.. After completing her training on the Maternity Ward at Hudson Valley Hospital (now NYP-HVHC), she provided in-home postpartum care, making no-fee house calls for Westchester Visiting Nurses and HRH Care. In 2014, she developed the New Parents Support Group program in conjunction with Putnam and Westchester County public libraries. The in-person library meetings switched to Zoom in 2020. She now manages and facilitates a network of New Parents Support Groups with her co-facilitator, Dr. Rachel Lemonik.

Dr. Rachel Lemonik is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in maternal mental health. Her practice is based in Westchester County and focuses on pregnancy and the postpartum period, helping new parents explore feelings related to childbirth, managing personal and societal expectations, and developing coping skills when adjusting to the new role of parenthood. Dr. Lemonik is the co-facilitator of the New Parents Support Group.
