Thursday, November 25:30—6:30 PMThird Floor Meeting RoomMahopac Public Library668 Route 6, Mahopac, NY, 10541
First Play: Noises Off! (Act I of III)
Whether you have previous acting experience or are just a lover of the craft, Readers' Theatre with Mariah will allow you to embody a character, make connections with your fellow readers, and try your hand at reading through some of your favorite Broadway and Off-Broadway shows!
Scripts will be provided for you, so all you’ll need is a pencil, highlighter, and your willingness to explore and have fun!
What exactly is Readers' Theatre?? It is our version of professional table reads! A table read, or a read-through, is when the writers, director, actors, and executives gather and read through a script out loud. These typically take place when the film/show is fully or partially cast and those involved are able to get immediate feedback on what works and what might need some more work.
Instructor: Mariah Kravitz is a New York-based performer and local teaching artist from Holmes, NY. She holds a BA in both theatre and English from the University of Alabama, and currently works as an acting and dance instructor for JEM STARS Performing Arts Company. One of Mariah’s favorite parts of theatre is getting to not only read new material, but also exploring characters she wouldn’t otherwise be able to. This is what she is excited to do with all of you! So let’s act!
