The circulatory system is considered to be one of the most vital systems as it helps in the transportation of nutrients throughout the body. It is composed of three basic parts: the heart, which is responsible for pumping; the blood vessels, which act as the channels to connect one body part to another; and the blood, which is a vital component in the functioning of the human body.

Circulatory/cardiovascular diseases include arteriosclerosis, mitral valve prolapse/regurgitation, mitral stenosis, angina pectoris, arrhythmia and dysrhythmia, cardiac Ischemia, high cholesterol, heart failure, heart attack, high blood pressure, stroke, peripheral artery disease, venous thromboembolism, aortic aneurysms.

Ayurveda’s approach to circulatory issues is based on an assessment of each individual’s unique body constitution (dosha). A one-size-fits-all approach is ineffective.
